One of the best things about being at university has been having the time and opportunity to get involved with volunteering. I have met new people, learnt new skills, gained confidence and had a lot of fun- all whilst using time I would otherwise have spent in front of the TV or in the library to make a positive difference to people’s lives!

Volunteering often means working under difficult circumstances to help those less fortunate. It is often challenging but also immensely rewarding knowing that you have made a difference to someone’s life and therefore this world is a better place to live in. It is also a very enjoyable and fun experience to have. It has provided me with the confidence and strength to move forward into different areas of work knowing that I have the skills necessary to succeed in life and in work.

Without volunteering I would not have had the experience and skills to get me through the interviews and the weeklong assessment centre that got me my graduate job with Shell. It is a win, win, win, win situation, all those involved directly or indirectly benefit from volunteering. Volunteering rocks!!!!!!! FACT!!!!
